Step-by-Step Application Process

1. Visit NVSP Portal: Go to voters.eci.gov.in (National Voters' Service Portal).
2. Sign Up: Register with your mobile number.
3. Choose Form 6: Select 'New Registration for General Electors'.
4. Fill Details: Enter personal details, family details, and address.
5. Upload Docs: Upload photo, age proof, and address proof.
6. Declaration: Complete the declaration section.
7. Submit: You will get a Reference ID. Use this to track status.

Common Mistakes That Cause Rejection

Duplicate Entry

Applying for a new card while already name is on the roll (e.g., in a previous city) causes rejection. Use Form 8 for shifting, not Form 6.

Unclear Photo

Photos with dark backgrounds, sunglasses, or side profiles are rejected.

Address Mismatch

The BLO (Booth Level Officer) verification will fail if you don’t live at the address mentioned.
