Documents Required for Fresh Passport
Proof of Present Address (Any one)
- Aadhaar Card
- Voter ID Card
- Water Bill / Electricity Bill / Telephone (Landline/Postpaid) Bill (at least 2 consecutive months)
- Proof of Gas Connection (Gas Bill)
- Registered Rent Agreement
- Passbook of running Bank Account (Scheduled Public Sector Banks, some Private Banks)
Proof of Date of Birth (Any one)
- Birth Certificate (issued by Municipal Corporation)
- Transfer/School Leaving/Matriculation Certificate issued by a recognized educational board
- PAN Card

- Supporting Documents: PDF format only.
- File Size: Maximum 2 MB per document.
- Photo/Signature: Usually not required to be uploaded for normal applications as they are taken live at the PSK. However, if asked:

Step-by-Step Application Process
2. Fill Application Form: Choose 'Fresh Password' or 'Re-issue'. Fill in details carefully.
3. Pay & Schedule: Pay the fee online to book an appointment at your nearest Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) or Post Office PSK (POPSK).
4. Visit PSK: Go to the center on your appointment date with original documents and self-attested photocopies.
5. Biometrics & Verification: Your photo and fingerprints will be taken, and documents verified.
6. Police Verification: The police will visit your address to verify your residence and character.
7. Dispatch: Passport is printed and mailed to your address via Speed Post.
Common Mistakes That Cause Rejection
Address Mismatch
The address in your application must match exactly with your address proof. Even small spelling differences can cause delays.

Hiding any adverse police history/court cases is a major offense and will lead to rejection.
Single Parent Issues
